Care & Comfort and their Staff help make the holidays brighter in Aroostook County

Care & Comfort and their Staff present donation to support annual Presque Isle Kiwanis project

Presque Isle, ME – The 2018 holiday season is behind us, but for those who experienced the joy and magic of the holiday season thanks to the outpouring of generosity from the community, the memories will last forever.  Care & Comfort, a leading provider of home and behavioral health care in Aroostook County, was pleased to join with other donors to make the season memorable for so many families.

The Agency and members of their Presque Isle team presented a Jeans Fund donation to the Kiwanis Club of Presque Isle for their Christmas Basket project.  For over 50 years the Club has worked tirelessly with members of the community on behalf of families facing difficult times, families who had the joy and festiveness of the holiday season replaced with sadness and frustration.   Each year the project ensures that hundreds of children who might not receive a Christmas gift get one, and their families can enjoy a holiday dinner thanks to a voucher for food.

“It’s very important to all of us at Care & Comfort that we support our communities and neighbors all year. However, I have to admit during the holiday season that it’s extra special to be able to present a gift that will help put smiles on the faces of children,” remarked Mike Stair, President & COO of Care & Comfort. "I am so pleased our staff chose this Kiwanis project as the recipient for this donation; the memories they helped make are bright and happy ones.”

The Jeans Fund, an ongoing collaborative fundraising effort between Care & Comfort and their employees, has contributed more than $83,000 in the past ten years to community-based non-profit organizations.  Every Friday staff may wear jeans to work for a donation, the agency then matches every dollar raised, and the employees of each branch select their local beneficiary semi-annually.
